Competences for Peace Education: Discussion of the Framework of Competences and Toolkit Presentation

We gladly invite you to join us for the event "Competences for Peace Education: Discussion of the Framework of Competences and Toolkit Presentation," jointly organized by YPAN (Youth Peace Ambassador Network), Peace Up!, and the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies, at LMU Munich on March 25, 2024, from 13:00 to 16:00. Together we will discuss the importance of peace education in today's world, as well as essential competences required for promoting a culture of peace in formal and non-formal education settings. The workshop will include a presentation of the project results from the Erasmus+-funded project "Peace Fellowship - Promoting culture of peace via strengthening cooperation of youth peace workers." The Peace Fellowship project aims to enhance the capacity and knowledge of partner organizations and the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network in the field of human rights, peace education and conflict management. In the course of the project, participating organizations collaborated on creating aToolkit of Peace Fellowship practices and methods.

This workshop is open to anybody interested in learning more about peace education, especially those from schools and universities or individuals involved in youth or NGO work. Engage in an exchange of ideas, sharing best practices, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities to incorporate peace education in your educational work. The toolkit presentation will focus on the Framework of Competences, which includes practical tools and ideas for peace education work in both formal and informal contexts.

Kompetenzen für Friedenspädagogik/friedenspädagogisches Arbeiten: Diskussion des Kompetenzrahmens und Präsentation des Toolkits

Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, an der Veranstaltung "Kompetenzen für Friedenspädagogik: Diskussion des Kompetenzrahmens und Präsentation des Toolkits" teilzunehmen, die gemeinsam von YPAN (Youth Peace Ambassador Network), Peace Up! und der Graduiertenschule für Ost- und Südosteuropastudien, organisiert wird. Gemeinsam werden wir die Bedeutung der Friedenspädagogik in der heutigen Zeit sowie die erforderlichen Kompetenzen für die Förderung einer Kultur des Friedens in formalen und non-formalen Bildungsbereichen diskutieren. Der Workshop beinhaltet eine Präsentation der Projektergebnisse des durch Erasmus+ finanzierten Projekts "Peace Fellowship - Promoting culture of peace via strengthening cooperation of youth peace workers". Das Peace Fellowship-Projekt zielt darauf ab, die Kapazität und das Wissen von Partnerorganisationen und dem Youth Peace Ambassadors Network in den Bereichen Menschenrechte, Friedenspädagogik und Konfliktmanagement zu stärken. Im Verlauf des Projekts haben teilnehmende Organisationen an der Entwicklung eines Toolkits mit Praktiken und Methoden des Peace Fellowship gearbeitet.

Dieser Workshop richtet sich an alle, die mehr über Friedenspädagogik erfahren möchten, insbesondere an Praktiker*innen aus der Bildungsarbeit, Jugendarbeit oder dem zivilgesellschaftlichen Sektor. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung wollen wir uns zu bewährten Methoden und Praktiken austauschen und über die Schwierigkeiten und Chancen einer Einbindung der Friedenspädagogik in die Bildungsarbeit diskutieren. Die Toolkit-Präsentation wird den Kompetenzrahmen vorstellen und praktische Ressourcen und Ansätze für friedenspädagogisches Arbeiten in formalen und non-formalen Kontexten bereitstellen.
